Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns softball team took a road trip to the state capitol in Baton Rouge and was honored by both the state Senate and House of Representatives for its performance during the 2008 season.

Louisiana's Piotrek Banas (Bielsko-Biala, Poland) was named First Team All-Louisiana by the Louisiana Sports Writer's Association. Banas finished the regular season ranked No. 99 in the nation in singles. He ended the 2008 season with a singles record of 7-3, while going 4-7 in doubles. Four of the seven wins Banas earned in singles came at No. 1 position.
